Identifying & Assessing Disruption Threats

This step is called ‘Risk Assessment’ or RA and is carried out in a team based session with the client in a structured brainstorm format. We analyse in turn each of the functions deemed as ‘critical’ in the previous step in order to identify potential causes of disruption (‘threats’) and the likely consequences should these take place. We then assess the adequacy of safeguards and generate recommendations to address any gaps.

The recommendations may involve measures which eliminate the vulnerability, measures which reduce the impact, or both. By carrying these out, the resilience of the organisation is already greatly enhanced and the likelihood of a disruption greatly reduced.
